These seeding are from 6 month

These seeding are from 6 month old seed pods! A customer of mine just sent me this pic!

I’m about to do this experiment tomorrow. How do you get the seeds out of the seed pods, and how many to plant?

Once they’ve sprouted, how do you separate them?

@pete2000 you gently separate them from the soil by hand.

 So you pull the sprout out of the soil, or scoop the sprout with some soil?

scoop them up if you can. Sometimes they root near each other. And u have to get them apart.

Thanks! I still have a few pods left on the tree. Hopefully I’ll get some seeds to play with.

@pete2000 We should swap seeds when season is ready. If you have any flowering that can be fertilized I can also send you some peddles.

Looks like the flowers are done for now, just a few pods drying out are left. Would definitely like to trade when she starts back up to do some pollination from different trees.

@pete2000

Hey Pete can you post some pics updates? I'm curious to see if any of your pods were successfully fertilized.

 Doesn’t look like any are fertilized.

There are a few more on the tree, and some dropped off, but they all look like these. The ones that were close enough I rubbed together, and used a q-tip on ones further apart. Someone told me the the first time a Kratom tree flowers the pods won’t be fertile. Not sure if that’s always true, seems to be the case here

I did notice that the branches that had flowers now all have smaller leaves. Have you guys noticed that? Maybe all the energy went into flowering.

@pete2000 oh no that is disappointing. They do not look fertilized. Did you remember to rub them together.

Yep either rubbed together or used q-tip.
