Received my first order and just wanted to say..

Thank you. I ordered 30 fresh leaves and am very happy with what came in the mail. A few extra were thrown in either accidentally or to make up for some smaller ones in the batch but regardless more than happy. As someone who eats / makes tea with approximately 5-10g per dose approximately 4-5 leaves chewed the traditional way (vein removed and tucked in cheek) has been enough to equal this. Taste is a lot better fresh too. This is what to expect as far as size.

Thanks again

Thank you for the kind words :) would love to get a review after you try them. Have you tried them with sugar in the center? It’s how the natives use them to quell the bitterness and it makes as a convientent an easy cough syrup. Here is a write up by Jamie. https://kratomwatchdog.com/topic/2208/sweet-treat-also-used-for-sore-throat-and-lingering-cough/20

i will happily write a review tonight. On the site or here? I can tell you that I don't get the same effects as most from kratom as I was prescribed heavy opiates for many years but I can def tell when I'm sick and when I'm not. The mail was 3 hours late today and my last kratom dose was yesterday around 8pm est. I felt the uncomfortable feeling wash away after 30 minutes on only the second leaf. I swallow the leaves after the 30-45 minutes as there's really nothing there (actual size of what's left not alkaloids) at that point. I appreciate the fact you all actually keep up with this app. When you tell me where to leave a review I'll write it and id like to talk to you all about ordering slightly larger quantities either in private or wherever is best for you. Thank you.

Holly cow I’m really glad to hear that it worked so well for you!! How many leaf have your tried overall? I personally take about 3 leaf at a time. Also have you tried drinking grape fruit juice while taking kratom? And how often do you go between does?

Feel free to pm me on here or you can email me at kozykratom@gmail.com. Also thanks for checking out the app. @Will has put a lot of time and effort into both our kratom nursery and this app and we are really happy about seeing all the new users. Also, you can post the review here if you like. I do appreciate it. :)

So I've not tried gpfj although I've heard it does help. I've heard the same anecdotally about magnesium. Kratom has a ceiling most people have felt who have used it where it only does so much and then it begins to make you feel weird. I get a head fog and just general bad feeling if I do too much. I'll say that I think that goes away as I've not felt it in awhile and even tried to make it happen not too long ago to see and it didn't.

I still don't get the same effects I think many do as I've gotten them before when I tried kratom 11 years ago pre opioids. I know it's not dose or quality as I've had highs of both in that same time. I'm okay with that my biggest goal was getting off the opioids because they served me no propose. You stop feeling those, you only feel ill, the legality is odd as doctors are so in fear of being labeled something they don't even give legitimate patients enough meds. There's little real understanding of both sides of that coin currently and I've learned that pain is something I can deal with.

The withdrawals suck but having gone through opioids (October 15th-November 7th full withdrawals that didn't start really for 5 days). I finally gave in to kratom because a larger vendor has a retail store locally. I finally got relief from the withdrawals and I needed it. It's hard enough to make it day to day let alone work simultaneously. I made the decision to start on an opioid that can cause withdrawals for up to 6 months. While I don't think that would be the case I couldn't take it anymore at that point. It just kept getting worse until the 10th day then it was constant for the next few days. Kratom definitely helps with pain and given that I don't feel it like I would stronger narcotic painkillers I think it's a miracle plant that two leaves stops withdrawals. I know 5-7g stops wds from much stronger opioids. This plant fills that craving desire and makes me feel normal. I've not been healthy and working out since I was 21. I'm now 31 and been working out and feeling normal again. Thank you. I'll write an actual review next.

@Jcole20 thanks for sharing :) I'd really recommend a cup of grape fruit juice with your kratom. I'm very skeptical of what's out there but I know it definitely works for me. I feel more of that warm hug good mood feeling. Magnesium is good for long term I just forget to take it.

how long prior to kratom do you drink the gpfj? I've always heard the cyp2d6 enzyme thing but I was told a long time ago to drink the gpfj 2 hours prior and never really tried it

@Jcole20 Grapefruit juice I tend to take early in the morning. Round 8:30 and about 10 o'clock I really start to feel it.  I normally drink kratom throughout the work day. Just have 1 spoon full I mix in and that will get me thru lunch. I tend to just sip on it instead of down it. I have switched to bringing in fresh leaf to work as it's easier to take. However I have gotten really used to the taste of kratom and grapefruit juice from this.

I will give it a shot in the am. I'm well aware of the science behind it and the inhibition of the enzyme (cyp2d6) that breaks mytrag down, that same enzyme is used to break down a lot of different medications and it's why so many different medicines warn against drinking gpfj prior to taking but I've never done it because I used to doubt it's efficacy and gpfj isn't the greatest thing (taste Wise) to me but I'll definitely try it soon. How much gpfj do you recommend? Honestly I'm not a fan of gpfj but I'll try it and let you know. I do think I tried it once years back but didn't put enough time between the medication and the gpfj. Regardless I'll try it in the morning prior to my morning routine. Btw I'd guess my dose of leaves on average day will be approximately 10-15 leaves. This is just a guess because today was not very average given I'm conserving because it got here so late. 2 definitely stops withdrawals which says a lot to me and 4 seems to be a decent dose for me as I've eaten 7 and don't feel any different than I did with 4.

I really feel like I hit a ceiling with kratom where more is not helping. I'll definitely let you know about the gpfj. Idk if that is just me or if it's because of my tolerance to opioids but regardless I wish someone had told me about that wall earlier because it's generally atypical with opioids. For me it's a good thing because in my head it seems so much simpler to taper from 4 leaves 3x daily than 10 capsules-12 capsules 3x daily. Maybe that's just me but all around I much prefer the fresh kratom to dried.

I think potency is close but drinking that much powdered kratom gets old and constantly doing the teas do too for me. I find it odd the little caveats with kratom where switching strain for some reduces tolerance. This is something I noticed myself accidentally. Didn't consider it I just went for what had the highest 7-hm in lab tests not even considering other non isolated alkaloids. I really don't know as much science behind kratom as I normally would with something like this because I know there's more to it than just the known alkaloids. Either by way of how they act or another non isolated alkaloid because kratom stops withdrawals where other stronger opioids do not. So for me I know something else is at play either due to a lack of understanding or other non isolated or not as well talked about alkaloids. I could be wrong and imagined all of it but I really don't think so. I know myself well and when I took kratom I really didn't have any faith in it working. It showed me.

At the end of the day kratom does what I want it to and it's been nothing but beneficial for me. Outside of the fact I don't have a tree in my backyard I think it's a wonderful plant and you all are doing an awesome job providing fresh kratom in the us market. I'll message you and do the review I've been jumping between texts and this app.

so I tried the gpfj and didn't notice much of a difference tbh. I drank maybe 24oz an hour before taking 4 leaves then 3 more 45 minutes later. I've been reading about it and coincidentally kratom alone inhibits many of the enzymes that break mytrag and the other alkaloids down. Meaning kratom potentiates itself. In theory redosing say 2g every hour should be stronger than taking approx  18.5g at once over a 12hr period. This is taking into account the half life of kratoms alkaloids.

I'm also reading where people say the active alkaloids aren't water soluble they're fat soluble so (a big misconception is that insoluble means that it is totally insoluble and none is absorbed which is not true. Insoluble really means it is poorly soluble usually requiring more time and water+heat or/and an acid to bring it out) in theory adding butter (I know how that sounds) or anything high in fat should greatly increase the absorption. I think adding an acid and melted butter prior to making tea (let it sit for 30 minutes) and then making tea normally should help to bring the alkaloids out. More is better here with the fat but drinking butter tea doesn't sound good. I don't think gpfj is useless but unlike with most opioids the effects will not be as pronounced in theory. It may increase duration sightly but I don't think it will greatly impact effects overall. I also think making tea with a material as fine as possible is best as that allows more surface area to be impacted.

I'm going to give the above a shot and I'll let you know. I tried a tea with whole leaves and was shocked at how light the color was. Totally different than shredded material. Definitely grind your leaves finely for the most material to be absorbed. Also given the poor water solubility of the alkaloids more water is better and in theory the longer the better as long as you can control heat. I've tried looking for people who take leaves and soak them for a day vs the 20-30 min tea times. I'd imagine with agitation the soak would pull more alkaloids out. But that's all just guessing. This whole post is really just theory but it's sound theory if anyone has experience with any of the above please let me know. Good luck and hopefully kratom brownies don't become a thing. I really don't think those would be pleasant.

Approximately 5g equivalent dried kratom and gpfj @1225 added butter at 1230 1tbsp real butter

Looks horrible not gonna lie.

Added 1 3/4 cups of water at 1240 and placed on low heat

@Jcole20

Fantastic never seen a fat soluble TEK. I absolutely see why it's worth a go. What differences I'd any did you notice?

My favourite extracts were always made with ethanol on a slow boil combined with citric acid, and then once evaped off I'd transfer over to the pressure cooker and give it a good steaming for 15 minutes. The powdered Kratom at that point became a goo! Run that through a hand turning press to remove the excess liquid and rinse and repeat.

For ease of use I'd evap the remaining liquid leaving a very bitter and worthwhile experience. Great stuff

just pulled it off I let it simmer lightly for the full 20 minutes and it's cooling now. Only difference in prep is that it's harder to cool with the butter. I don't really know how much a full boil effects it so I'm doing my best to keep it at a simmer. It'll be another 30 minutes before I try it I'm thinking. Will post more pics here shortly.

After simmer removed at 1310 (30 min - 20 min simmer)

Yes I'd normally continue to evap the water but for the sake of the traditional tea method I'm going to try it first without another hour evap I'll definitely try to see how low I can get it as usually I cook until I'm left with roughly 100ml of water. I've never quite reduced it much more than that. Usually due to impatience and lack of experimentation. Kratom is something I've done a few times over the last decade but not regularly until really this month.

Edit: honestly gpfj+kratom+butter just doesn't sound fun to drink but I'm hoping to really figure out if the fat matters or not as I've rerun (double steeped) and gotten results from the second wash where really you shouldn't if the alkaloids were fully soluble in water.

so I would guess I started with 6 oz of gpfj and 14oz of water this what I have left so clearly it doesn't evap well with butter.

Outside of making you feel like you're making out with a deep fryer taste is actually okay. Like surprisingly okay.

so... Yeah I recommend something other than butter. I'll put the time I finish drinking it in...

Edit: finished at 1353est

so from start to finish I mixed 6oz gpfj with roughly 5g equivalent dried chopped leaf (my leaf was fresh and remember the finer the chop the better). Let sit for 5 min stirring regularly then added 1tbsp melted butter and let sit for 5 more min stirring regularly.

Placed pot on low heat and added 14oz of water. Let warm to a light simmer over ten minutes stirring every couple of minutes. Once at a simmer I let it cook at a simmer for 20 more minutes. After this I removed the pot from heat and allowed to cool for 10-15 minutes. Strained the plant material out and drank the liquid.

Edit so I genuinely have not felt kratom outside of relief of wd symptoms in a couple of weeks. I've ingested maybe 10g prior to the tea today with my last dose around 1130am est. I feel a very noticable mood lift but also the start of that negative feeling I mentioned when you take too much (it manifests as pressure in the front of my head to start). 1412est

2) so definitely a noticable increase in potency. I feel it for sure 1420est

so yeah all I can say is it works and is definitely closer to a full spectrum extract than water alone. I don't think I'd do it if I had a ton of material on hand but to get more out of it it definitely works.
