this is one of my mitragyna javanica which is 6ft tall after pruning and has a 4-inch base. Pictures Before and after spring pruning where I clip every branch on the plant. On this one you can see how the tree grows when you top it as a fresh rooted cutting. Which really seems to be the way to go. Last year not only did I prune it but I stripped every leaf off of it. This year I didn't have to do that they all fell off naturally. I can't recommend pruning enough especially at the onset of spring 

@roadkillTrue, I pinched my clones at each foot they grew. They seem to have 2 or 4 big trunks. 

          ONE plant, big and wide...easier to pick. 

    they lost leaves from frost, but lots of trunks are more visible.  

       I like big bushes,  and I can not lie

  Pinch them bushes good. Pinch 'em often.
