@pete2000 sometimes I go through and meticulously cut each branch right at a node. Other times I've gone through with shears and just hacked away. Both ways work well.

Thanks @roadkill. My big tree needs a heavy pruning. Once she’s done flowering I’ll cut back a few bottom branches and see how she responds.
