got a big bag of Starbucks coffee grounds, how much do I put on my Kratom tree and how often? @peteypyro @will @guywithtrees
@SpaceMarine Great. For your little tree, I recommend 1/2 teaspoon per inch of pot size. 5 teaspoons for a 10 inch wide pot. Sprinkled over the soil's top, watered in well. Bugs will avoid it, and the rich volcanic soil that fed the coffee will in turn feed the kratom tree. It breaks down slowly over months. Re-apply monthly, while actively growing. IMHO.
Hey guys, chime in here too. I can't be the only one using coffee grounds ☕☕☕
@SpaceMarine. And one caveat on using with young cuttings...Don't. Coffee coffee grounds are known to be great culture media for mold. Just look in any uncleaned drip coffee filter after a week. Mold.
Definitely nothing I I want in contact with rooting clone cuttings.
Save the coffee for larger plants, at least well rooted and growing plants. Your plant does look old enough to me though.
Once their bark gets a bit thick, mold cant easily penetrate kratom.
